It has come to the attention of the Rhode Island Film & TV Office that several scammers are conducting fraudulent acts by posing as producers or filmmakers with a future production in order to entice crew members and talent to reveal their personal and private financial information, such as bank account numbers.

If you are contacted by an unfamiliar producer or filmmaker via email, phone, or text message for potential work, please PROCEED WITH CAUTION. No legitimate production company requires your private financial information.

If you feel you have received a fraudulent contact, please file a report with the Consumer’s Division of the RI Office of the Attorney General at 401-274-4400 (Option 1).
